Gecko, I am seriously considering revolvers, as a 460 S&W can fit in my glovebox, and is an adequte weapon for long range engagements, much more concealable than a rifle. I also find my backup gun (sig p232 .380) is fairly weak, and see several J Frames in 357 that fit the bill. I also plan to replace my p220 elite with a smith performance center ttr8 8 round 357. I think 125gr jhps are much betetr than any 40 or 45. Do you consider revolvers good weapons?

Revolvers are for people who spend their days fantasizing about being a cowboy. I do not spend my days fantasizing about that. After all, I am a ninja.

REvolovers don't hold nearly enough bullets for the kind of real world missions me and my team have to face every day on teh battlefield. Combat isn't like being on the range. In combat you may need to fire 10, 15, even 20 bullets before you hit someone who is trying to escape with stolen goods from a store. Once they get past seven yards, it gets even harder. No revolver even the 8 shot ones are capable of handling that.

Revolvers are also really really slow to reload. Sure there are fancy high tek ways to get around tht problem but who wants to rely on technoligy? I'd rather just use a modern semiauto.

there is nothing you can do with a .460 revolver that you can't achieve with a good .45 and some black powder. 200gr at 2300 fett per second? No problem. I haven't tried it myself but I'm sure it can be done.

But all of that pales in comparison to the biggest prblem with revolvers. It is easy for any PETA-trained skateboard riding ecotango to shut your revolver down in one felt swoop. All he (or she!) has to do is reach out and hold the cylinder - the round part that spins around - tightly. Just like that, the gun can't fire. We've done it many times in our training cycles and at least half the time it works. The last thing you want to have happen is to have some girl wrapping her hands around your cylinder so tight you can't make it go off.

Out here.

gecko, i have noticed on all my autos (Sig 220 elite, Kimber custom, colt 1911 38 super, sig 232,) jam or stovepipe when heldd at weird angles likely in tactical situations. I may need to fire while hanging upside down. Revolvers fire no matter what. also, in 1911s a bad guy can just hold a hammer. I like the ability to mount optics too. My moon clip reloads are fast, and as for the range comment, i hold a 3 inch group at 30 yards

You can come on the internet ans say anything you want. 3 inches at 30 yards. Yeah right. That's minute of angle (1 inch at 10 yards is MOA). We have expertly modified assault rifles tat aren't that accurate.

If you can't shoot your pistol at an odd angle it's not the guns fault you have pansy limp wrists. Spend a little time in teh gym. Oh wait now next your are going to tell me you can bench press 300 pounds and run the mile in six minutes. Yeah right.

So yeah stick with your stupid revolver and your moon clips and when your in trouble and the world is crashing down around you because you don't have enough rounds to take out the bad guy I hope the last thought in your head before the bullet pierces your brain is of me.

gecko my mile is 10:34 and bench 265. MOA is a 100 yards. My Winchester model 70 can hit that and it was made in the 50s. As for the girl grabbing my cylinder, you're just jealous
