Gecko, I have lived a life of work in financial sectors, Making a lot of money. I have easily afforded multiple class 3 and hard to get wepaons, quite legally. The thing is, i have never had the privelege to serve my community in the LE/Military/retail security sectors. I plan to help my neighborhood, and mop up crime in the area. I have more money than i can spend and wish to serve people now.

Gecko, I have this as a duty setup:

FAL Paratrooper Carbine, Fully automatic, Eotech sight, accurate weapon
AK-74 converted to aks-74u with class 3 trigger unit, I have found very concealable but lacking in range and accuracy
Stevens 311 pgo w/ 12'' barrel
Skorpion 9x18mm full auto
Remington 870, 14 inch barrel
Browning hi-power mk 3 40 S&W W/ collapible skelton stock
Wilson Combat double stack 1911 .45acp
Pre-64 winchester model 70 30-06 w/ leupold fx2 4x32mm
now, i want to know, what purpose each wepon will serve in the defense of my neighborhood, what to bring, what to leave, and tactical advice on my new calling

Frankl - You have some good gear there but a little outdated. But serving your community means using what you've got to do what you've got to do with what you'v got, so we'll start from there.

First thing first. Set up a parameter around your neighborhood. Idealy you will want to use steel reinforced concrete walls but that may not be possible. Even an electrified chain link fence is better than nothing. But job number one is keeping the bad people away. Walls and fences make it hard fro them to get in and also makes it hard for them to escape once youve engaged them. Dead men tell no tails.

Next you need to figure out if you have team support or not. In today's culture the odds are that you will not be able to find other neighbors willing to put it on the line like you have. That means you may be on your own. I have done plenty of team missions all by myself and I am here to tell you it is hard. Not impossible but hard. If you are by yourself you will not be able to provide what we in the business call "24/7" security. That means every day all day long and all night long to. So you will have to figure out what times and days are the ones where danger is most likely to strike your village. Be prepared to give up your night life because your weekends will be spent in a concealed hiding spot waiting for eco-tangos, vandals, and other security threats.

Another thing I would highly recommend is night vision equipment. You wll have to get all your neightbors to turn their porch lights off at night but this will blanket your entire neighborhood in darkness. It will be much harder for criminals to operate in that environment while you will be able to see everything.

Walking around with all your gear all the time can really tire you out. If your neighborhood is big you want to put cashes of weapons and ammunition on every block so when trouble starts you can respond directly to the trouble after first running to get yur gear. There may be some liability issues involved in leaving a fully automatic machine pistol in your neighbors yard if they have kids tho so be sure to talk to a lawyer before deciding on your specific load out.

The best thing you can do is set up a secure observation post. You want maximum visibility but also protection against incoming weapons fire. Since car windshields work so well as deflecting bullets you might want to visit the local junk yard and buy five or six windshields out of broken cars. A few tent poles and some duck tape and you will have a very secre position from where you can watch the whole neighborhood.

There are lots of boobyttraps and stuff like that you should look into but it would not be appropriate for me to discuss those in public. But just be thinking about ways to barricade all the streets in and out of your neighborhood if you have to.

Out here.

Gecko, My enviroment is favorable to those factors. I live in a walled communtiy with a large iron gate, on top of a hill with a clear line of view. I attached windshields to my 4th floor balcony, and as this observation point is my own mansion i have spare ammo and guns at the ready. I stashed My milsurp bolt guns and webley/nagant revovlers all over as they were cheap and i had so many there accessible anywhere. I usually patrol in my armored hummer though. My neighbors are generally anti gun but i hid the weapons quite well. I carry my 1911 and aks74 u under my armored bomb disposal team jacket, and my FAL is on my back seat. I hope it is a long and exiting career.
